Longboard

Most days I longboard to get around the UMaine campus. This summer I decided to decorate the bottom with markers, pen, and acrylic paint. Before doing this, I sanded the surface, and then afterwards put a clear finish back over.

UMaine Geological Society

I am part of the UMaine Geological Society this semester. Unfortunately I can't attend meetings because I have figure drawing class at the same time. This year, the group is hoping to raise money to go to Iceland for a week during spring break. I have been helping to raise money for this, and I recently designed an image for us to adorn glassware like shot glasses and pub glasses that we can sell for profit!

First design, a magnifying class showing UMaine in rock fissures

Second and final design (this will be used on the glassware) of a hand lens

All At Once

I've been thoroughly enjoying my 2D Design, Drawing, and Art History classes so far. I constantly doodle so that I won't space out and stop paying attention, so I've been doing a lot of hand designs between taking notes. For 2D Design one assignment was to fill one 8'' x 11'' sheet with 120 rectangles and create black and white designs in each one. But, on each side that touched another, the   black and white had to be opposite. It was a very cool assignment, and definitely a type of design I love to do, but it was verrry long and got a bit tedious.
